My story, a letter to Lori..............
Hello Lori, I'm very happy to hear from someone with an interest in collaborating on songs with me. First I want to give you a web address to go to: http://www.onlinerock.com/fans/awayguy/ This is a site where I have posted some demo songs. Please have a listen and let me know what you think. I also need to mention that I am not really interested in forming a "Band". Been there / Done that way to many times in the past. It was fun but I now have real life responsibilities (family, job, dog , cat.... you know what I mean). So this is a kind of part time deal for me. I have a lot of experience as a musician and have spent many, many years touring (as an audio engineer) with many very famous artists and bands. I've been across the US and Canada more times than I can remember. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I still really love music but no longer have the "Dreams" of being a rock star. I would like to put out a CD with some songs that I really like, maybe sell a few, get some airplay and hopefully end-up having some music in TV or Films. I think that is the real market for people like me. In all of my years as a muso and engineer I am still a bit "Green" when it comes to writing and recording. I am definitely getting better at both but this is an art form that takes years to perfect, unless your born with some crazy amazing talent (I wasn't). This is why I'm looking for help with Lyrics and Musical ideas. Nothing you hear in any of my demo songs is "Set in Stone". They are just song ideas. I'm willing to change, redo or try anything. I have a lot of patients when it comes to recording. I spend hours tweaking these demos trying to make them sound as good as they can, and still think they could be much better with a little help. I am very interested in hearing some of your ideas and having a go at a partnering project. So go have a listen, or if these are not in a preferred format for you let me know and I can email something direct to you. Please send anything you think I might be interested in hearing or reading. I have a ton of stuff on the shelf ready for finishing and can't wait to get started, but this is not all about me. I truly hope to be able to help you get what you want out of your music also. Thanks for the note, Hope to hear from you soon, Wayne Stephens PS............... I hope the above doesn't sound like I'm "Ranting", I just want to be very up-front about who I am. Thanks again, Cya
