hey all, my next buy is going to be a mixer for line in recording to my computer, and then, a new guitar. What brands do you guys suggest I consider when looking at acoustic electric guitars on todays market? I play a cutaway presently, but don't really play much upper range lead, so don't really need a cutaway. They are nice though...

Just thought I would ask musicians about it.

I would lock myself in the glass room at guitar center and play every guitar until you found one that was perfect for you. I've always felt that guitars have souls and you'll know when you meet the right one. What are your plans with it? Are you going to play live with mics? or at home? or recording? These things should be thought of when looking.

Have fun!

you are probably right, Steve...and some guitars really do have souls...but they usually aren't in my price range. LOL...

Handling one -checking the action, fit to the person looking, are key in buying a guitar...and different people like different sounds from a guitar. So I guess that really was a stupid question. I have never been able to just go to a music store and write a check for what I wanted...so it does make shopping a bit harder.

Thanks for your reply, Steve.

Well, even a $59 dollar guitar has a little soul \:\)

I actually found a 12 string at a garage sale that is amazing and I only spent $25.00

What's your budget? There are many options out there.

i guess I am looking for the guitar of a lifetime at this point. I am tired of playing my Ovation, its just a little bit too dry sounding for me. I don't know what my price range is yet cause I don't have the money right now...

I will sometime soon, though, I just know it. (she does still believe in santa claus) hehe

i ended up buying an Alvarez FD-60 Purple!

and they aren't making that particular color anymore, so I guess that makes mine special! It sounds great, and I got it for $550 (a $900 guitar) before Mars went out of business...

Taylors sounded great, but are out of my budget at the moment!

well, I am posting here...again with the hopes of being the one worthy of winning software from thy loyal and trustworthy homesite. I can't tell you all what just getting the copy of nTrack software has done for my ability to share my songs with others.

Without that, I would probably still be roaming the dark ages...
