Has anyone used the n-track program that OnlineRock is giving away. Ive tried heaps of different setups but none seem to work too well. I recently treid cakewalk but it wasnt working in full duplex,
anyone have any Ideas

I just got Pro Tools LE which works great. I haven't tried nTrack yet but you can download a demo at their site. Also it lists their features. Ever try Pro Tools?

Yes, I've tried n-tracks.
In fact it's the ONLY software I've used and I am very happy with it. And you gotta love their users group forum. They'll help with anything, very knowlegable and eager to assist.

I've been demoing a bunch of different software, including n-Tracks. It's very simple, intuitive and stable. I like it a lot. It's also cheap, even if you don't win it ($30). I also like Guitar Tracks. Pro Tools is the industry standard and I use it at the local studios to produce radio commercials (I'm a writer/producer/voice talent at an ad agency). But the learning curve is quite steep and it can be rather tempermental, especially on a PC.

For home recording, my needs are really modest....miked acoustic guitar and vocals, a few tracks of each. I'm into simplicity of sound and Pro Tools is just way more program than I need. I will probably buy either n-Track or Guitar Tracks at some point soon (if I don't win anything!).

I should amend my above post and the comments about Pro Tools. It is Pro Tools FREE that is a little temperamental. I have only used the upscale version in the studio with great engineers and powerful computers.

I have used the demo version of nTrack, and I found it to be the most "user friendly" of all the programs I have looked at so far, including Pro Tools. Pro Tools on Mac is the industry standard, so it makes sense that it would be the most difficult...

I won the first copy of nTracks here, I thought the cost was $59 or $79 for the deluxe model...its a good program at any cost. I am happy I won cause now I can use the money I was going to spend on the software towards a better soundcard or an external mixer.

We should all stay in touch here that use ntrack and help one another with any questions that arise...

I use cakewalk 9, which is a good program for windows, even better when using with sound forge 5 and all its dx plugins, like wavehammer that I love, but try not to over abuse! A program needs to be easy to use so you can concentrate on being creative, not working out how to use the thing. my view anyway. I have downloaded ntrack, but haven't used it yet. does the demo version work at 24bit? I don't think it does which was a bit of a turn off for me. bye peter
