hmmm...what do you need? well, what do you have now? Do you have anything? Computer based recording is a good start. You can pick=up some inexpensive software such as cakewalk or ntrack or something a bit more advanced such as the Digi 001. I have a friend who has cakewalk and a lap top and has been getting some basic tracks down with no problem. If you want to stay away from computer based recording there are many stand alone hard disk recorders that aren't too expensive.

You'll also need a mic and some headphones or monitors. It all depends on what your budget is and what you're trying to do.

Good Luck,

Ca I connect it to a Windows XP computer? I have an amp, and the guitars. I need to get a mic, and the software. What type of machine burns the CD? \:D

Yes, the new digi stuff works with Windows XP home edition but it's kind of expensive (around $700) You can also use CakeWalk Gutar Tracks which my frined uses for around $100. He just bought an inexpensive adapter at radio shack and plugs it into his sound card. He also uses the mic that came with the PC. It works just fine for demos and stuff.

Hope this helps.

oh yea, I forgot that you can get an inexpensive CD burner and add it to your computer. XP has pretty good support for that too.

Good Luck!
