Wailing Train (c) Conner D. Smith, Jr. - Lyrics / Kenna Adams Pitts - music -
2001

There's a train that's coming soon
Out below the crescent moon
Whistle blows its mournful tune
The one I love
Is on that WAILING TRAIN...

He said we'd never be apart
Some things you just can't chart
Still I hold him in my heart
The one I love
Is on that WAILING TRAIN...

He's riding on that WAILING TRAIN
In his uniform of blue
And he's coming home to stay
To his word he will be true
But like a barren fruitless plain
There's an emptiness so huge
He's riding on that WAILING TRAIN
To seek his last refuge...

Fateful winds blow despite
Heaven's will and heaven's might
Somewhere in the lonely night
The one I love
Is on that WAILING TRAIN

Men of peace, men of war
Stand together at deaths door
Frightened in the dark they roar
The one I love
Is on that WAILING TRAIN

He's riding on that WAILING TRAIN
In his uniform of blue
And he's coming home to stay
To his word he will be true
But like a barren fruitless plain
There's an emptiness so huge
He's riding on that WAILING TRAIN
To say his last adieu...

p.s. I did this on nTrack demo without any effects...

Wow...what a beautiful voice. I like the song too. It seems like an old traditional song that could be handed down for years. The MP3 has a little buzz or hum in the background and there is one point where I hear you clear your throat but I really do like the combination of your voice and the guitar. Keep it up!

Songstress.

This song has got to be one of the most haunting and thought provoking songs I have heard in a long time. As a lyrisist I felt the lyrics were beautiful and your guitar arrangment with them was wonderful. Raw and full of emotion is the feeling I have about it. It takes alot to sing someones lyrics with such passion.

In reference to the recording I would be interested to know how you got on with N-Track demo? I am not very literate when it comes to home recording and am a relative babe at it. Do you have any tips.

I couldn't hear any hum ,but remember we all listen to our mp3's on different players. I did hear the clearing thoat ,but hey it certainly didn't spoil the song for me.

I would love to hear more of your work and collaberations so when your site is off the ground let me know.

Tis a a shame you live in the States (I am from England) I would have loved to collaberated with you one day. Well you just never know what's round the corner , do you hun?
Count me on your fan list girl. \:\)
-----------------------------------------
P.S to everyone else.

BTW I have wanted to listen to other peoples work on here but the downloads have stopped midway. I normally have no probs. So to Jeff and company I will keep trying.

I think it's much nicer when we embrace other peoples work instead of ratting on itor just ignoring it.Constructive critisim is cool and can help alot so it's nice that we are sharing and we are heard by our fellow artists. Us musicians and artists have to stick together. This is a very cool site for that, Glad I found it at last \:\)
--------------------------------------------

So now I am off to give details of my site . Have a peaceful and lovely Thanks Giving all you guys in the States. To everyone else have a good time rockin and rollin!!!!

I finished mastering the "Rock for America" Cd this weekend and was even more impressed with the final version of Wailing Train. All and all there are some great songs on the CD. I got it of to the manufacturer yesterday so we should be finished by the end of the month. Thanks for your involvement.

thanks bunches SB...I really appreciate it. I worked hard on it, and did it all by my lonesome on a Fostex 4 track and of course, mixed down on nTrack. I don't know anything about adding effects and all that yet, still much to learn about recording myself. Its fun in the process though. I have learned a lot in a short time.

I now have a digital mixer and can line straight into my nTrack program. The Fostex is more portable however, and can go with me when I do...which I really like!

Looking forward to hearing the final CD. And hope it makes some money for Sept 11th fund.
