I'm supposed to be outta this board for good, but your reply REALLY SHOCKED me!
If you meant it as a joke, sorry but its REALLY DUMB. Not to hurt your feelings dude, but how long have you been in the metal scene?? Are you telling me you DIDN'T KNOW RANDY DIED MARCH 19TH 1982?? If you really didnt know......now you do.

I guess sometimes, I try to pretend he's still alive but your reply was absurd.Kinda funny, but absurd.

*God Bless Randy Forever*

Camilla,
I understand your reaction to bobby's post! I too was shocked that someone didn't know that Randy Rhoads has been dead for a long time. But you know what? Not that many people are hip to stuff that happened that long ago, and met someone the other day who had never heard of Blondie, for example. Have you seen that TV show, The Osbournes on MTV? If not, you should check it out, it's hilarious. I'm shocked by something on that show, though. Ozzie walks around like some 75 year old dude! Man, he must have done it up, 'cause he's already looking and acting like some guy at a seniors home! I still think you should continue to give this place a chance, it won't hurt ya!

Ha Ha....I laughed sooooo hard when I realized that I wrote this. I must have been stoned or something. I knew but I wasn't thinking.

I hope Elvis isn't listening...Oh, he's everywhere.

This made me think we should play the game: Dead or Alive?

I'll go first:

Don McLean

Dead or Alive?

@One sun: I`ve never heard of Blondie! (embarrassed) Who is he/she/them? And Ozzy osbourn was on a tv show? I dont live in the US now, so I dont get to see it.
@Bobby: That thing you said about Randy, were you being serious?(coz I still havent figured it out!) and I dont know Mclean, but let me guess....he`s dead right?
I guess I`m staying after all, so dont worry One Sun! ;\)

Camilla,
You too, huh? Blondie was/is new wave band, the lead singer is Deborah Harry. They came out at the same time as the Talking Heads, Police, and Ramones, aroung 76 to 77. I figuredif you were hip to Randy Rhodes and Ozzie, you would probably know them also, although they weren't metal. BTW, Ozzie isn' "on" a TV show, it's his show! It's about the entire Osbourne family, it's on MTV. So, besides Ozzie and Randy, who are your favorite metal bands? \:D

So what exactly is Ozzy`s tv show about?? Sounds like good old Ozzy-crazy-stage-antics kinda show? Does it have anything to do with the band??

You are really trying to keep me here with all your questions! Not that I dont like you or the board, but just that usually, not much goes around here, and you never used to talk to me before :p . I dont know many metal bands...I was actually a true Rock girl before my friend lent me the ozzy cd. I like Aerosmith, RHCP, Yngwie (but he`s classical) and A LOT of others that I jus cant remember now...

What about you ? I hardly know you at all! So tell me what music you like! \:D

Camilla,
Actually, I'm not really trying to keep you here, it's just that I found your posts worth responding too. As for not talking to you much before, I have more free time available now, so I'm posting more, that's all. I also wonder why there is not more activity on this board, and a lot of my previous posts have also gone un-answered. So, you are not alone in that! But hey, we can talk, so what the hell!

Qzzie's show is not really about the band. it's about his family life, and it's a kind of twisted take off on a standard family sit com show. It's very, very funny, and every other word gets bleeped! Do you get MTV where you are? BTW, where are you? I live in the San Francisco area.

My musical tastes are very eclectic, I like hard rock in the form of Ronnie Montrose, Van Halen, Robin Trower, old Aerosmith (not their newer stuff)as well as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Creed. I also like old punk, The Ramones and Sex Pistols.

I used to be a DeadHead, but not the kind that would follow them in vans and stuff. I still listen to a lot of Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers. I love the jamband stuff (but I positively hate Phish, they suck!), and I listen to a lot of Jazz and Blues also.
So, there you are. I used to be in a band called The Suns of Midnight, we have a site here, but there's not much to listen to. I am in the process of recording more of my songs, and I hope to promote my music through this site.

I am not a young man, and haven't been playing professionaly for a while, but I still write and record stuff. I think I'm going to take another shot at it, just because in the current environment I don't hear much stuff that sounds really original. My stuff is different, and I don't really think it sounds like anything else that's out there now, so why not, right? When I finish up the song I'm currently working on, I will put it up for people to review. Do you play also? Peace.

I live in Brazil right now, but my dad is actually a diplomat, so we move around every few years or so. Have you been to brazil? Its a very nice country. And ofcourse I play! (although just for 8 months! But I`m improving a lot). I only started when I was 16...really late but, I know there are a lot of people out there who started when they were 20 something too.

What happened to your band? You stopped playing with them or did it just breakup?
I`d love to listen to the old stuff like the Ramones but we dont get those a lot outside the US. Rock was more or less a US thing...so most of the old stuff is American too. most of the greats also were American I think, like Randy, Eddie, Michael Schneker (however his name is spelt!)
When you post your songs inform me! Coz I`d really like to hear them! :p \:D ;\)

Camilla,
Oi! Tudo Bom? Not only have I been to Brasil, my wife is Brazilian!!! We were there this past Christmas, I've been there five times, usually to spend the holidays with my wife's family. It really is a small world, huh? She is from Sao Paulo, so that is where we go when we go down. We spent this past Christmas at a beautiful resort on the coast just south of Rio, at the Hotel do Frade in Anrga.

My wife's best friend's husband is a drummer, so I always take my guitar when we go down there, and jam with him and his friends, who are all excellent musicians. Pretty funny, don't you think? I would have never guessed that is where you live, but the cool thing about the internet is that it's global.

While I was down there I met two very well known Brazilian musicians, Carlos Bala and Artur Maia, do you know of them? Carlos has played drums for Jorge Ben, and Artur has played bass with a variety of some of the top Brazilian guys. It was a kick to meet them. I also had the pleasue of seeing two great live acts down there, Suzi Bastos and Nuno Bettencourt.

Sixteen isn't that young to start, that's the same age at which Eric Clapton began playing, and I think he turned out OK, what do you think? I didn't start playing guitar until I was eighteen, by the time I was 21 I was already playing in bands.

BTW, there are plenty of good outlets for getting rock music in Sao Paulo, what city do you live in?

I will let you know when I post my new stuff.

Oi! Como vai!? You speak portuguese too? I was so surprised when I read your post! I'm not actually Brazilian though and I've only been speaking portuguese for 8 mths. But its cool that you got to meet Carlos and all the other guitarists. I'm totally lost though, about brazilian artists becoz I've only been here for such a short time. I know about Carlos , but thats about it, Actually, I like the band Charlie Brown Jr. they have here.

And its so sad that I dont live in Sao paulo because all my friends tell me you get electronic goods (like amps and guitars) a lot cheaper than in Brasilia(the boring new capital that I live in!). And I was soooo pissed to know that Malmsteen actually held concerts there many times, and I never got to see him!!!!! \:\( \:\(

Tudo bem! Eu falar so um poquinho. Eu estou aindo apprendando. Ta? Well, I hope I spelled everything correctly, I NEVER write in Portuguese! My wife's english has been fluent since we met, so she doesn't teach me as much as she should, it's easier for her to speak english to me. It's funny, she's been living here twelve years now, and her english is better than most Americans!

I figured if your father was a diplomat you were probably in Brasilia, and that's a shame because it probably is the most boring city in the whole country. One thing about Brasil though, there is nowehere in the entire country where you can get musical gear at a decent price. Even in Sao Paulo it is anywhere from 3 to 5 times more expensive to get guitars, amps, keyboards or any gear than it is in the US. Most Brazilian musicians come here to buy their stuff. It's because of the duties to import the stuff, it's can be as much as 100%!

There is a lot of great music to listen to in Brasil, and Brazilian musicians are some of the best in the world, especially the drummers. While you're there try to catch as much live music as you can. You are extremely lucky to have this opportunity, definitely make the most of it!

I really like Carlinhos Brown, Marisa Monte, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Evan Lins, and some Jorge Ben. I'm not so well aquainted with Brazilian rock bands, but there are some really good ones.

So, Eu falar pra voce mais tarde, sim?
Tchau!
