J2R MUSIC: MUSIC LICENSING FOR INDEPENDENT ARTISTS

THE NEXT STEP: You’ve worked hard, writing and recording your original songs. You may have shopped your music to the labels, or released your CD independently. Now what can you do to gain additional exposure and make money from those songs, while still retaining control of your copyrights and sound recordings?

J2R Music was established in 1998 in order to supply high quality original music to clients in network and cable television and feature film production. Over the past seven years, we have worked with hundreds of original artists and songwriters of all genres (Pop, Rock, R&B, Dance, etc.) to place their music in television, film, or both. In fact, we have had over 300 song placements on some of today’s premier television networks as well as feature film DVD releases, ALL ON A NON-EXCLUSIVE BASIS.

While it has always been the job of our A&R team to conduct online searches, attend artist performances, and read through publications in order to discover the best possible artists for our clients, we have recently decided to expand our online search efforts. Here you can find detailed information on how we can make this a reality and in turn make you a profit, as well as how we conduct business, how J2R operates, and how exactly your music may be used in television and film.

If you own and control the publishing, sound recordings, and copyrights to your music, the next step is to send a CD of your best musical compositions to the address below, accompanied by a short letter containing your name, contact information, and any other relevant information you may have pertaining to the use of your music. Once your CD has reached J2R, it will be reviewed by a committee who will then decide if your music fits our clients’ needs. If so, you will be contacted for complete writer information so that we can put together an Agreement for your review and signature.
