WORKING BAND - Part 2 of Erik Jay's 15 part series is entitled "Image, Identity & Goals". Now, it might seem that Part 1 about "wearing all the musical hats" and taking charge of your career should have come second, or third, but certainly after part 2. But not really, I wanted to get some tools into your hands right away so you could be about the "buzz building" business. Read part 2 at:

ONE-ON-ONE - Shane Glass is a business manager at Provident Financial Management, a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), who also teaches a class on touring and tour accounting at UCLA in Los Angeles. He is currently on the road in Europe as Stevie Wonder's tour accountant. This month Nikki talks with Shane about touring and management. Read the interview at:

FEATURED ARTIST PROFILE - Over the last seventeen years, in the 1990s with Bedhead and for the last decade with The New Year, Matt and Bubba Kadane have done all they could to avoid feeling rushed in making a record. Records need time to be coherent, and coherence -- even thin thematic coherence -- is what makes records worth more than a mere collection of songs. Download a song and check out their profile at:

FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD - Deer Tick began in December of 2004 in the bedroom of Providence native, John McCauley. With a tape recorder and a nylon string guitar, he did what most anybody would do; he made tapes for his friends. Much has changed since then, but the attitude remains the same. Download " Art Isn't Real (City of Sin)" from their upcoming release along with other music at:

CD REVIEWS - This month we review the latest from Of Montreal, Calexico and Mercury Rev. If you have a new release, send it in to OnlineRock for consideration. To submit your CD or read the latest reviews, just go to:

ONLINEROCK PODCAST - Hosted by Andrew McNair, our goal is to expose you to bands and music that you might not normally get a chance to hear. Our October 1st segment features Bowerbirds, Gentleman Jesse and These United States among others. To take a listen and subscribe via iTunes, please visit:
