Greetings,

Just five days shy of his 23rd birthday, Neil Young‚s solo career launched in earnest with an engagement at The Canterbury House in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Having left the Buffalo Springfield only six months earlier, Neil brought just his guitar along to the facility operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan as a ministry to University of Michigan students, faculty and staff.

The night of November 9, 1968 (and the night following), he performed his music and told stories between the songs to a rapt audience. The performances were recorded those evenings on a TEAC 2 track tape recorder, the tapes kept in storage over the intervening years. Reprise Records is giving away five copies of the CD to OnlineRock readers. In Addition, an iPod Shuffle will be included with one of those five CDs.

We also have another ToneCore Pedal from Line 6 to giveaway. For your chance to win either of these visit our site at:

WORKING BAND - Part 3 of Erik Jay's 15 part series is entitled "Making Sound Decisions". It doesn't matter if you're doing cover tunes at weddings, half your own material, or doing all originals and working as much as possible while hoping to open for a big act - you need a demo. Read part 3 at:

FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD - A little over a year since the release of Aloha and White Williams drummer Cale Parks' solo debut album Illuminated Manuscript comes Sparklace. There is a stark contrast between the two albums. Sparklace stands as a more immediate album than its predecessor focusing on songs with a pop structure whereas Parks' previous output was more ambient and minimalistic. Download "Some Sew, Some Find" from his upcoming release along with other handpicked music at:

ONE-ON-ONE - Nicholas Dobson is the author of The Frustrated Songwriter's Handbook. I read his book and put his songwriting methods to the test. It worked well so I contacted him and asked him a few questions. Read the interview at:

FEATURED ARTIST PROFILE - From early shows with Iron & Wine, to playing on The Late Show with David Letterman to their recent performance at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit, Band of Horses keep plugging along. They are currently recording at the historic Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama. Download a song and check out their profile at:
