Hey Camilla!
The first album I ever bought was a mail order Beatle album that if I still had it would be worth thousands of bucks! I don't remember the name, but it was an EP, not an LP, with only four songs on it. They were Anna, Misery, Ask Me Why and Do You Wanna Know a Secret, which I used to sing to myself while walking to second grade. Dating myself now, huh? :p
What I'm listening to now are "Postcards of thr Hanging" which is the Grateful Dead doing Bob Dylan tunes. Also, I took the advice from one of the people who posted in my "good new music" thread, and I bought the new Neil Finn live album, "7 Worlds Collide". It's awesome! I'm also listening to Miles Davis' Bitches Brew. For hard rock I like Pearl Jam. As far as which AC/DC album to buy, any one of them should be good. My wife and I saw them in concert two years ago, and although I'm not a big fan I enjoyed the show. My wife loves them, she used to be a little metalhead when she was a teenager! Have you ever checked out Steve Vai? For progressive metal guitar he's "The One"!

Thanks for the advice one sun! and I have been trying to get my hands on a Steve Vai cd for ages...but hes hard to find where I go shopping for cds...

And I agree with fave cd`s changing everyday Bobby...I used to think to myself that Ozzy Osbourne`s "The Ozzman Cometh" was the best, or "Diary of a Madman" too...but then I got yngwie malmsteen`s Concerto suite for electric guitar (I know its not his best cd, but that was the first time i heard yngwie, and it totally blew me away ),so then malmsteen was my fave.
But now I bought Deep Purple and they are so good! \:D you know...its actually all a matter of getting used to it. Now I just have many faves instead of one...

I saw deep purple last summer with Steve Morse on guitar and they were great! Which album/cd did you get? Also check him out with the Dixie Dreggs.

Camilla, once you have heard Steve Morse, you will forget all about Richie Blackmore! Blackmore is OK, but he's nothing compared to Steve Morse, or Steve Vai. It's like the difference between driving a Volkswagen and driving a Ferrari ; the VW is a good car, and it's comfortable, but The Ferrari is state of the art, and ten times faster.

Oh wow! Is that true?? I always thought Blackmore was better (Probably becoz I havent heard a lot of Morse's songs). The only one I heard was the last one of my cd called 'Any Fulr Kno That'.I thought it was really cool but yeah, it was really different from Blackmore's stuff.

I also heard people think Blackmore's kind of a pain...I read the story and all, about him and Glover ,then him and Coverdale...But was Blackmore the lead? coz I mix him up with John Lord.

hmmm...I wouldn't say that one was "better" than the other although I do prefer Steve Morse. I would suggest listening to them both and see which one you prefer.

I have heard them both! :p
And I really couldnt tell which is actually better (and imagining Blackmore as a Volkswagon was kinda funny... \:D ) But I think each guitarist has his own thing to offer...there really can only be a judgment of skill...not of style and such.

But everyone has their favorites (not excluding myself... ;\) )

John Cougar---American Fool. For years after, I imitated his voice to a "T". I'm from the mid-west and so I used him as a model with very little sucess. An old girlfriend used to say I should cut a John Cougar tribute album, I was really stoked until she said, "Yeah and you can call it American Idiot!" moments later she bacame my ex-girl!

Not sure if they are actually the first two I bought but they were the two that I bought that had the biggest initial impact on my own music Boston's first one (with more than a feeling on it) and Kansas's Leftoverture.

As far as AC/DC albums I always thought Back In Black was their best (Hell's Bells is my favorite from that one)
