Hello Everyone,
Summer is just right around the corner and it’s time to start lining up gigs. You’ll need to get a professional looking press kit together which includes your demo, picture, bio, press clippings and reviews. Even a video for some situation would be helpful. This week, Ken Klar from Must Have Music talks about the guidelines for sending anything out to anybody. There are plenty of stories of demos that have simply been thrown away without a single listen based on the package alone, and other stories that have been passed along third and fourth hand, finally getting the recognition they deserve. Do you think that would have happened to a song surrounded by sloppy handmade packaging? Not very likely!

Once you “purchase” a song from the store, you can burn it, store it or whatever you would normally do with music that you buy. Do you feel that they have the right idea? How do you feel about the pricing structure? Do independent artists have access to selling their music this way? How can it be improved? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

http://www.onlinerock.com/partners/domainreg.shtml FEATURED CD – Freax (pronounced freaks) is not a new band. In fact, they began their career in Brazil back in 1985. Through self-promotion and strong word of mouth, the group found themselves in heavy rotation on FM radio stations all over the country. Just as things were going the band's way, they took a turn for the worst. Their guitarist was electrocuted on a set of train tracks in Brazil and died. The band decided they could not continue without him. In 2000, Freax drummer Lou Ferreira heard a guitarist that blew him away. This guitarist sparked a fire in Lou. He set out to start the old band back up. But who could he get on vocals? Enter former Life of Agony frontman Keith Caputo. What started off as a five song collaboration tuned into a 15 track full-length CD. Take a listen at:

Designed for studio use, but rugged enough for live applications, the KSM27 has an externally biased, one-inch, ultra-thin, gold-layered, low mass, Mylar® diaphragm to provide superior transient response. An extremely low self-noise level and selectable frequency response deliver superb recording fidelity no matter what the source.
