Greetings,

This month we focus on the web and your music. From file sharing to MySpace, the web has proved an invaluable tool for musicians of all levels. Chris Standring starts us off with his article “How to Get Targeted Traffic To Your Music Website.” Everyone knows that if you are an artist or you play in a band that it is imperative you have a website. It is now considered the norm and a nice place to refer existing and potential fans. However, an artist website that sits in cyberspace and gets visited only after bands mention their web address on stage is a website that is not utilizing the Internet's full potential. A poorly promoted website can be like a tree falling in the forest. It may look stunning, have all the bells and whistles but if nobody can find it then it is a waste of time. LINE 6 GIVEAWAY – Our winner last month was Tom from Colorado. He won his choice of a ToneCore Pedal. This month we’ll be giving away a Line 6 GuitarPort. The GuitarPort gives you the ability to jam with and learn hundreds of songs and guitar lessons that you download from the Internet. It also includes models of 16 classic guitar amplifiers and 19 stompbox and studio effects that work, sound & feel like the originals. Just connect the shiny red GuitarPort hardware to your Windows PC with the included USB cable and connect GuitarPort's stereo output to multimedia speakers, headphones or your stereo. Then install the software and plug your guitar into GuitarPort and you're ready to jam! Register to win at: http://www.onlinerock.com/line6form

CD REVIEWS – OnlineRock will review your CD and post it on our Web site. These reviews can be used for your promo kit, Web site or in a press release. To submit your CD or check out the latest reviews, just go to: http://www.onlinerock.com/CDreview

FORUM QUESTION – File Sharing is as strong as ever. Many people use it as a way to discover new music while others see it as piracy. What is often missed in these two different positions is how it affects the indie musician. Does it aid or hinder his/hers or their music? Can it be used as a tool to collaborate with other musicians? Or can it work as an alternative distribution system eliminating CDs? Please let us know by posting your thoughts at: http://www.onlinerock.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000185

FEATURED CD – Kevin Sandbloom has been songwriting and fronting bands in the L.A. area for several years. His music is inspired by the classic soul and R&B of the late 60's and early 70's but is by no means limited to that genre. There are other influences working as well, Blues, Rock, Reggae and Hip-Hop being among them. The later part of 2002 saw the release of the artist's first full-length record, Blues For Bricktop, containing 12 songs all broken down to the basic guitar and vocal elements with the occasional instrumental and harmonic color. Take a listen at: http://www.onlinerock.com/kevinsandbloom

FEATURED ARTISTS – This week we feature the band So Fell The Giant from Denton, Texas. They are three long-time friends who just happen to rock when they pick up musical instruments. Our featured download this month is “Agent” and it comes from Electric Koolaid and our featured Web site comes from Kristen Hubbard. You can view these feature at: http://www.onlinerock.com

You can be featured too! All you have to do is have a Web site, a great photo, and fill out the profile form. Maybe you'll be next! http://www.onlinerock.com/profileform
