This American Idol thing is pretty lame. Its built on premise of bias. Allowing the audience of 12 to 17 year olds to vote for what they consider to be acceptable is ludicrous (you know that's who is voting). And of course its all pre-planed by the powers that be.

You know it should be based the evaluation of there peers, and certainly not a bunch of bubble gun chewing dumbass producers (Paula excluded). I know, I know this is that rich ass Simon's baby (and of course its all about more money for him...Dick) but I have to say it all makes me want to puke. Other wise they would be doing a talent search for all the up a coming bands out there (which would be way more interesting) piss on this American idol thing and bias focused on singers alone.

I have been musician for years and these moguls in the music business could do just as well to sale coffee beans. They don't know shit about music, all they see is $$$$$. The limitation placed on the hearers/consumers (I hate that word) in the mainstream again it is all about the money the industry can make off us (me excluded).
Its like going to a swap meet and being sold an old out dated pair of sunglasses when they have the new stuff under the counter, but they push the old stuff first until it runs out. The music industry manipulates the consumer in order to sale -- bottom line.

So, I say long live the independent musicians, and bypass these big business bastards!
Hey, everybody needs money. And I would like to see the people who have put a great deal of time into their craft get a well deserved return for their work. There's plenty to go around!

Our only hope for true musical diversity is and will be found with the independent artists and labels -- period! Don't you think? Ok I'm done, thanks

I regret posting the subject "American Idol blows" do to the fact that it is the ramblings of a mad man. I was drunk and angry at the time, so I could have been whining about anything. Although, there is a couple points made, but its mostly just nonsense. I still think American Idol blows, but I didn't need to post what I did -- at least not in that state of mind. Sorry about that folks.

well...whether your drunk or not...you're right. For these guys it's all about the money and jamming crappy music down the throats of people who don't know better. Eventually if this whole internet music distributin model comes together, people who appreciate music will have a real choice. Musicians won't be trying to be the big mega-star but will eek out a comfortible middle class living based on the quality of their music. But just like McDonalds, Starbucks and Walmart, we'll always have mass marketed music products that people don't have to think about...they'll just buy because they are exposed to it on TV and Radio.

It's amazing the music you can find out there without even turning on the radio. And we thought Payola was over. Go to your local clubs and support the bands there. Buy there CDs directly from the bands or from their Web sites. You'll be uch haapier with the music and the bands may actually have a chance to pay their rent. We can all make a diffrence.
