The 8200 Series Field-Corps Bass Drums feature an aluminum arch lug casing 20% lighter and 40% stronger that uses straight-line technology. The drums are one to two pounds lighter than previous models. Hoops made of 10-ply Birch with a round edge allow pinpoint tension on the hoop, and a new steel wide body claw is designed for today's corps-style tuning, dispersing tension over a larger surface area for more stability.

These bass drums also feature a 5.4 mm steel tension rod to provide easy, consistent tuning without unnecessary weight.

Lug casing developed strictly for marching drums
The toms and bass drums are both equipped with the first lug casing in Yamaha history developed strictly for marching drums, making Yamaha drums lighter than any competition level drums on the market and ideal for high school, college and drum corps use.
