The E-Mu Vintage X Pro Volume 1: Synthesizers Sample Library offers you a host of legendary analog and digital synths, including the ARP 2600, Mini and Memory Moogs, Prophet 10 and 600, Jupiter 8, Taurus Pedals, and more. E-MU's sound designers sampled each individual pitch, oscillator, and signature sound to capture the unique sound of each of these legendary synths, and optimized the presets for Emulator X's powerful streaming engine. All sound banks on the EMu Vintage X Pro sound collection use the Emulator X patch cord modulation matrix, which offers users quick real-time control over filters, envelopes, oscillator layers, and many other parameters.

Using MIDI controllers with this sample library is easy, as the front panel knob functions are standardized for most of the factory presets. Match the MIDI controller numbers corresponding to the knobs on your MIDI keyboard to the real-time controller assignments in the Preferences menu to control these important functions.

ARP 2600
(1972) Monophonic analog synthesizer
The ARP 2600, although originally designed as an easy-to-use synthesizer aimed at schools and university music departments, quickly became a favorite of rock bands worldwide. The extremely flexible ARP 2600 contains most elements of a good sized modular synthesizer in a small, portable package. It can be played without patch cords or modified with patch cords for ultimate programming flexibility.

ARP Axxe
(1977) Monophonic analog synthesizer
This is an extremely simple, budget synthesizer with a big sound. You have an oscillator, a filter, an amplifier, one ADSR envelope and one LFO. The ARP filter on this little beast is punchy and easily recognizable, confirming its noble heritage.

Roland JD800
(1991) Polyphonic, programmable digital synthesizer
Easy to use all digital synthesizer with lots of sliders and knobs, "analog-sounding" filters and over 100 internal waveforms. This synthesizer excels at creating beautiful shimmering pads and strings. Up to four parts can be layered for big, fat sounds. Internal ROM based waveforms are combined to build your sounds. This is an interesting and great sounding digital synthesizer with incredible flexibility and control.

Roland Jupiter 8
(1981) Polyphonic, digitally-controlled, analog synthesizer
The Roland Jupiter-8 is an 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer with a 61-note keyboard. The Jupiter was Roland's flagship synth and gained a reputation as one of their best sounding analog instruments with its airy, transparent sound. Roland took the best features of the OBX and Prophet-5, then added a few more of their own to create a true classic. Wonderful, shimmering, string sounds and punchy brass are no problem for this versatile analog monster.

Roland JX-8P
(1985) Polyphonic, digital/analog hybrid synthesizer
The Roland JX-8P is a 6-voice, 12-DCO, programmable analog synthesizer with a velocity and pressure-sensitive 5-octave keyboard and the Roland analog filter. It is a direct descendant of Roland's first single knob synth, the JX-3P, and is great for generating lush pads and punchy brass-type sounds.

Moog Memorymoog
(1982) Polyphonic, programmable, analog synthesizer
The Memorymoog is a polyphonic synthesizer with the classic Moog sound and the ability to store up to 100 patches in memory. It has six independent voices, each containing three voltage controlled oscillators, a voltage controlled 24dB/octave lowpass filter, two ADSR contour generators and extensive modulation facilities.

Mini Moog Synth
(1971) Monophonic, analog synthesizer
The Minimoog was the first portable synthesizer and was the most popular synthesizer of its day, mainly due to its ease of use and great sound. Along with its many other attributes, the Mini can produce a deep, powerful bass that few other synthesizers can match. It standardized the VCO->VCF->VCA signal path, and the use of Pitch and Modulation wheels, which are still widely used today. The Mini Moog features three voltage-controlled oscillators, a mixer, noise source, a VCA, two contour generators, and a warm, resonant filter. External signals can be processed through the filter. A voltage and "S-Trigger" from jack allows the Mini to be hooked up to a ribbon controller, sample-and-hold or, percussion (drum) controller.

Moog Taurus Pedals
(1975) Monophonic, analog bass synthesizer
The Moog Taurus Pedal Synthesizer was popular with rock bass players to create fat synth bass lines. The Taurus has three preset sounds and a special preset that you can program yourself. The Taurus is a specialized monophonic bass synthesizer using two audio oscillators with glide, two contour generators, and a VCA, coupled with the famous Moog low pass filter.

Sequential Circuits Prophet 10
(1980) Polyphonic, digitally-controlled, analog synthesizer
Originally designed as an extra voice board in a standard-sized Prophet-5 case, the Prophet-10 was later reborn as a very large two-manual instrument—essentially two Prophet-5's in one box, married with a polyphonic sequencer. The 20 oscillator Prophet-10 is two-part multi-timbral and can produce a truly huge analog sound, properly befitting a synthesizer of this size.

Sequential Circuits Prophet 600
(1983) Polyphonic, digitally-controlled, analog synthesizer
The Prophet 600 was a low-cost synthesizer based on the legendary Prophet-5 and was the world's first synthesizer with a MIDI interface. It had six voices and the same Curtis synthesizer chips used in the Prophet-5. The envelopes and LFO were generated by the computer, and an arpeggiator and a 400-note polyphonic sequencer were also added to sweeten the deal.
