This exclusive Fender 1961 P-Bass Relic Bass combines classic tonality, custom-designed appointments, premiere craftsmanship, and impeccable electronics to produce the undeniable Precision Bass sound that made the electric bass guitar what it is today. Designed originally by Leo Fender and brought to market in 1951, the Precision Bass was the first to earn widespread attention and use. Today, the P Bass is still revered as an essential instrument, and has stood the test of time, becoming a true American legend in the process.

This Fender electric bass starts with a select alder body, offering full sound and toughness to the low end. The rosewood neck and fretboard bring out ample tone, while the custom bolt-on neck presents deep, lasting sustain. The oval-C neck shape, coupled with nitrocellulose lacquer neck finish makes dancing across the bass's 20 vintage-style frets a breeze. The bass pickup that invented "funk" is still virtually unchanged today with the P Bass pickup. Other appointments include vintage nickel bass tuners, rolled fret edges, custom tortoise pickguard, chrome plating and pickup shield, and a lacquered body finish. Finally, the '61 bass was given Fender's "Relic" treatment—built to show years of natural wear and tear; with nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.
