A '60s Strat enhanced with a smooth neck and custom-wound pickups.
This 1963 Stratocaster NOS Korina Masterbuilt is a one-off from The Fender Custom Shop crafted by Master
Builder John Cruz. As an NOS (new old stock), it has the unblemished look as if the guitar was purchased new in 1963 and had
been recently discovered tucked away in a closet.
John started his creation with an exotic 2-piece Korina body with
a faded 3-tone sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The back of the C-shaped neck has been finished with gunstock oil and
steel-wooled and sanded until it feels as John puts it "like a baby's behind." The pickups are John Cruz Limited special-wound
single-coils with a tone control that wired to the bridge pickup. Gold hardware adds the final touch of class.
