The Fender Custom Shop Deluxe Modifed Stratocaster has been given Fender's "New Old Stock" (NOS) treatment—built (from original tooling) as if bought new in its respective model year and just found today. It's equipped with '65 Vintage Strat pickups with a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup for hum canceling in positions 2 & 4. The premium ash body has a thin nitrocellulose finish that results in better resonance. The lightly flamed "A" maple neck has its own vintage tinted nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The Indian rosewood fingerboard has a mid-'60s oval C-shaped profile.
