They also make head changes faster and easier. Shell is all maple with an exterior finish of high-gloss sparkle lacquer for greater resonance and flash look. Interior finish seals shell from humidity and enhances tone. The lightweight aluminum die-cast hoops offer accurate tuning and also allow the drum to open up much like a triple-flanged hoop without the choking associated with zinc die-cast hoops.
