GMS Drum Co. has created a very special limited-edition snare drum to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The GMS 20th Anniversary Snare Drum features a 9-ply ash shell comprised of 8 plies of North American white ash with an outer ply of highly figured North American olive ash burl. 8-ply North American maple retainer rings are beveled on both upper and lower edges to mellow sonic reflection inside the shell.

In a nod to fine vintage drums, the GMS 20th Anniversary Snare Drum is fitted with 8 lugs, giving it a warmer tone and slightly softer feel than today's standard 10-lug models. With the vent hole repositioned, the drum has a fatter sound, balancing the significant high-end cut delivered by the nine-plus-eight ply configuration.

Finishing touches include GMS's new Special Edition snare drum lugs and classy 20th anniversary logo embedded in the high-gloss lacquer finish.

This is the 23rd snare built in this limited run.
