Since their introduction in 2005, the Mapex M Birch drums have been among the fastest-selling drum sets in history. The reason is simple: tonally superior birch shells.

The M Birch's exterior maple ply allows beautiful wood grain to show through the drum's eight-coat, hand-rubbed lacquer finish. The all maple M Birch bass drum hoops are color-matched and secured via low-profile claw hooks.

The tom's mount is secured via the lugs and is not drilled directly into the shell. The Mapex I.T.S. System allows the shell to vibrate freely, allowing for maximum projection and resonance.

Mapex's low mass lugs are secured to the shell via only one point of penetration. Fewer holes in the drum shell means less vibratory interruption, resulting in truer tone and unimpeded resonance.

Both drums are equipped with Remo drumheads.
