Blue Dragonfly Microphone
Like
its insect cousin the Dragonfly is fast maneuverable and beautifully engineered. The Dragonfly employs an innovative design
that offers fine tuning and precise placement to please the most discerning recordist combined with an ease of use that is
without equal among contemporary microphones — and at a price that's considerably less than anything in its class. Winner
of both the 2001 TEC Award and an Electronic Musician's 2001 Editor's Choice award the Dragonfly is a unique pressure-gradient
cardioid condenser microphone employing the Blue's hand-built single membrane large-diaphragm capsule coated with a 6-micron
mylar film of pure gold and aluminum. Enclosed within a rotating spherical grille the capsule can be positioned and adjusted
in the smallest spaces. Complete with an integrated elastic shockmount the microphone's electronics are based on a class A
discrete circuit with a transformerless output. Its sonic character gives flight to everything from vocals to percussion electric
guitar and bass as well as more "difficult" sources such as saxophones and stringed instruments.
On-Stage Stands
SMS7650 Hex-Base Studio Boom Stand
Designed with professional recording musicians in mind the SMS7650 is
equipped with two straight boom shafts that can be attached for studio recording. Or remove the front boom and use the back
boom for project studio work. The boom arm slides effortlessly through the 1" square housing and locks with a tension knob.
Boom angle adjusts with a 40-tooth clutch. The 17-lb. patented base is a step above the rest as it provides a low center of
gravity giving it stability even when moved. Also includes removable casters.
Stedman Proscreen XL
Professional
advanced pop filter for all vocal applications. Made from an exclusive patented material that eliminates pops far more effectively
than fabric filters the Proscreen XL allows unobstructed passage of high frequencies helping to maintain the important detail
in vocal recordings. In addition to its sonic advantages it can be easily washed between sessions. Signal levels can be maximized
without the risk of clipping caused by bursts (extremely important with digital formats). The Proscreen XL has a large 6"
diameter screen with rubber bezel and includes a 13" flexible gooseneck with an extended adjustable clamp to allow easy adjustment
and placement.
How it works:
The angle of the large louvered openings in the Proscreen XL
material allows sound to pass while diverting air bursts from vocal pops in a downward direction out of the back of the screen.
Even extremely dynamic close vocal work will not allow bursts to reach the microphone.
Requires phantom power.
