| From the squares and subway stations of Berlin, Germany, comes singer-songwriter Scott Hawley, who headlined his unique blend of folk and alternative acoustic rock music to packed crowds in clubs like Checkpoint and the Bebop Bar. The songs from his first demo led the Berlin MP3.com charts for months, and his first (and only) departure from English lyric writing, ``Kein Bock,'' became a post-punk anthem for packs of shouting German youths. Scott has drawn comparisons to the Goo Goo Dolls and David Wilcox for his infectious melodies and his craftsmanship as a songwriter. Scott's lyrics cover topics of love and personal loss, hope and the search for meaning, and his dexterous fretboard work reveals his time of study in France under master guitarist Pierre Bensusan. In the fall of 2002, he decided to stop being a visitor to Austin's music scene and move there full time. |
